Islamabad: A delegation from the Saudi Development Fund is visiting Pakistan to inaugurate some of the projects financed by it and to inspect the other projects under implementation.
During the visit, residential units in the villages of Bajaur, Kurram, Mohmand and South Waziristan Agencies, financed by the Saudi Development Fund, will be handed over.
The Saudi Development Fund, in collaboration with UNDP in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is executing 585 community infrastructure restoration and rehabilitation schemes in 6 Tehsils of District Swat.
Till date, out of 585 schemes, a total of 498 schemes comprising street pavement, link roads, drainage channels and bridges etc, have been completed and handed over to communities.
The remaining schemes are scheduled to complete by December 2013. It is worth mentioning that the Saudi Development Fund recently provided an additional loan of Saudi Riyals two hundred and sixteen million, seven hundred and fifty thousand (216,750,000) for the Golen Gol Hydropower project in Chitral.
