Senior Officials Meeting of Arab-China Cooperation Forum condemns terror attacks on Saudi Arabia

The 16th session of the Senior Officials Meeting of the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum and the 5th session of the Strategic Dialogue condemned the terrorist attacks targeting two oil pumping stations and Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia.

Participants in the meeting � held on Monday in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates � also condemned the attacks against commercial and civilian vessels within the UAE's territorial waters and in the Gulf of Oman.

In their concluding recommendations, the participants stressed the need for international cooperation to prevent the recurrence of such terrorist acts as they posed a threat to the security of international maritime navigation, the world energy supply and global economy, as well as undermining security and stability, in the region.

They also underscored that such acts constitute flagrant violations of international law, particularly the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Osama bin Ahmed Nuqali, who is his country's Permanent Representative to the Arab League, led the Kingdom's delegation to the meeting, which was co-chaired by UAE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, and Director-General of the Chinese Foreign Ministry's Department of West Asian and North African Affairs Wang Di.
