Shahrukh Jatoi files petition in SC for case transfer

Karachi: Shahrukh Jatoi, prime accused in Shahzeb Khan murder case has filed a petition in Supreme Court’s Karachi registry FOR transfer of the case to a regular court.

Shahrukh Jatoi, along with Siraj Talpur, Sajjad Talpur, and their cook Ghulam Murtaza Lashari, have been accused for murdering the 20yearsold Shahzeb in his car over a minor dispute near Mubarak Masjid in Phase of the Defence Housing Authority in the early hours of December 25, 2012.

The petitioner, Shahrukh Jatoi, through his counsel has challenged the decision of Sindh High Court, whereby it dismissed the application seeking transfer of case.

The petitioner submitted that Investigation Officer under the influence of media campaign has added Section 7 of the Antiterrorism Act 1997 in the charge-sheet. However, he added that content of the FIR lodged against him and other accused in murder case do not contain the any element of terrorism.

He has pleaded court to set aside the order of ATC regarding transfer of case and it may be transferred to a sessions court.
