Sharjeel claims having carried out several development works in Larkana district

Karachi: PPP Central Deputy Information Secretary and Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that during last five years of present government 473 kilometres of new roads costing Rs.1634.800 million have been completed while 110 kilometre road repaired with the cost of Rs.370.306 million throughout Larkana district.

Talking to a delegation of PPP office bearers of Larkana who met him at his office on Thursday, he said that owing to personal interest of President Asif Ali Zardari, Chief Minister Sind Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Ms. Faryal Talpur, the record development schemes have been initiated in the history of Larkana.

He added that Rs.84.00 million have been spent for the construction of the roof of 40 shelterless primary schools while 101 additional classrooms in various schools have been completed at the cost of Rs.75.700.

He said Rs.9.900 million for boundary walls in 33 schools, Rs.6.250 million for toilets in 25 schools, Rs.132.00 million on computer blocks in 14 schools, Rs.7.000 million for science laboratories in two schools, Rs.84.00 million for the construction of auditorium in 04 schools, Rs.425.00 million for rehabilitation of 207 primary and secondary schools and Rs.45.00 million for the construction of Girls Degree College in the city have been spent while miscellaneously Rs.136.653 million were spent on different development schemes.

As regards health related projects, minister said that Rs.80.00 million have been spent for the renovation of different Taluka hospitals of Larkana, Rs.40.00 million spent for upgradation of basic health units, 30 new dispensaries and one Thalassaemia Centre have also been established in the city with the cost of Rs.60.00 million. The renovation work of Rural Health Centre and Maternity Homes have been completed with the cost of Rs.45.976 million and a TB Diagnostic Laboratory has also been established with the cost of Rs.4.808 million in the city while Rs.22.200 million have been spent on the construction of the C.C Blocks, drainage system and public toilets at different villages of the district through Public Health and Municipal Services.

He informed that Rs.588.288 million have been spent for the construction of 88 government offices and residential buildings for the staff, Rs.7.200 million have been spent over the construction of waiting shades at different bus stops and the construction of a mosque done at revenue colony with the cost of Rs.4.187 million.

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that Rs.5.000 million were allocated for the establishment of 50 kilometre Linear road side plantation in the city, Rs.5.00 million spent on Poultry Farming Centre in the city, Rs.2.500 million for the construction of training centre of Agriculture, Integrated Base Management on Rice crop which have been completed. Further, Rs.3.00 million have spent on the establishment of Fish Hatchery in the city, the work of 60 kilometres green belt was completed at the cost of Rs.6.00 million in Larkana City.

He further said that Rs.3.00 million spent on the promotion of agriculture through skill development program, Rs.5.00 million have been spent on control of parasitic disease in livestock, Rs.7.00 million for the construction of Permanent Nursery at village Hassan Wahan Naudero and Rs.25.584 million spent for the construction of 08 veterinary dispensaries in different villages of the Larkana district.

He added that these schemes in the city has given great boost to the economy of the district and have uplifted the socioeconomic conditions of various sections of societies at large.
