KARACHI: Sindh High Court SHC on Monday directed the authorities of central prison, Karachi to provide medical facilities to an ailing inmate.
Syed Manzoor Ahmed Shah, sub accountant in health department, Umerkot has been booked for his alleged involvement in embezzlement of funds amounting Rs66 million.
Applicant through his counsel submitted that he was chronic patient and required medical facilities, which were not available at the prison hospital.
The court had earlier ordered chief medical officer at central prison to submit a report regarding the health of the applicant. Though, the report showed that the applicant had pain in chest and it advised further health checkup to diagnoses the disease.
The bench ordered Jail superintendent to provide medical facilities to applicant as suggested in report and submit compliance report in the court.
