KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday issued notice to a military estate officer of Karachi cantonment board and director military land cantonment on a contempt of court application allegedly for defying the court orders regarding issuing permanent lease to the petitioner.
The petitioner Birjis Shaista Jehan moved the court, alleging that military estate officer of cantonment board and director military land cantonment, have wilfully disobeyed the court orders. She submitted that court had directed them to grant her permanent lease for her bungalow in Staff Lines cantonment, Karachi after she submitted payment challan as per policy.
Though, she submitted that she deposited the challan but the cantonment board has not issued her permanent lease. She asked the court to initiate the contempt of court proceedings against Muhammad Hayat Mahar, military estate officer of cantonment board and Mrs. Zeenat Ahmed, director military land cantonment, Karachi.
A division bench of SHC issued notice to them and adjourned the hearing of case to Aug 28.
