Karachi: The Sindh High Court SHC on Thursday issued notice to home secretary, director general Military Intelligence, director general Rangers, Inspector General of Police IGP and other respondents in a petition seeking whereabouts of a missing person.
The petitioner, Sanobar Khan stated that some officials in the Rangers and commando uniforms trespassed her house and whisked her son away.
She stated that she was resident of Orangi Town, and had lodged an FIR in Mominabad police station about missing of her son, Akram Khan, detained allegedly by Rangers but police seemed apathetic taking any action for her son’s recovery.
Citing home secretary, director general Military Intelligence, director general Rangers, Inspector General of Police IGP, director general ISI, director general IB, SSP Karachi West, and secretary of Interior Ministry she prayed to court to direct the respondents to produce her son before the court.
Headed by Chief Justice Mushir Alam, the division bench issued notice to the respondents as well as the additional advocate general and deputy attorney general.
The hearing of case was put till February 22.
