Sindh bans purchase of physical assets

Ratodero, Sindh: Sindh Government has banned purchase of all physical assets in the province with immediate effect.

Reliable sources said in a letter signed by Mirza Muhammad Aamir Baig, Section Officer CTC, Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, Government of Sindh, Karachi, addressed to Additional Chief Secretaries Dev., P&D/Home Departments, Senior Member Board of Revenue, all administrative secretaries, Chairmen, Inquiries & Anti-Corruption, Chief Minister’s Inspection Team, Sindh Services Tribunal, Sindh Public Service Commission and administrators, Commissioners and deputy commissioners all that Caretaker Chief Minister has directed to impose ban on purchase of all new physical assets Moveable & Immoveable immediately and has further directed to implement this direction in letter & spirit.

After receipt of this direction all ongoing development works & procurement of machinery, equipments and instruments of paramount importance in Sindh have come to standstill.

Sources at the finance department told PPI that many of files are lying in the office of the finance secretary for release of funds of ongoing projects but he declined to dispose of these important files due to the ban imposed by the Caretaker Chief Minister.

The sources said that the Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister was briefed at the very outset about the financial position of the province by the finance department head after which he ordered imposition of ban.
