Sindh Finance Department says all appointments were made before ban imposed by Election Commission

Karachi: Sindh Finance Department has clarified that all the appointments in finance department were made before the ban imposed by Election Commission of Pakistan.

Election Commission of Pakistan issued directives and imposed ban on all kind of recruitments on 22nd January, 2013. Thereafter, Election Commission of Pakistan reviewed its directives regarding recruitments vide its notification dated 08.02.2013, stating that “all vacancies which were advertised on or before 31st August, 2012 are outside the purview of the afore-referred directive and may be filled in, and all appointments shall be made strictly in accordance with the rules applicable to such appointments and purely on merit”.

An official handout said on Monday that Sindh Finance Department advertised vacancies of DPAs (BS-12) in Finance Department in leading English, Sindhi and Urdu newspapers and Selection Committee conducted interview of the candidates applied for the post of DPA’s (BS-12) 10th December to 21st December, 2012 and Finance Department issued offer letters to the eligible candidates for appointment on purely merit basis on 15th January, 2013. After fulfilling formalities, Finance Department issued posting orders on 06.03.2013. As such the process of the appointment of DPAs was completed prior to imposing the ban on recruitment made by Election Commission of Pakistan.
