Sindh to introduce biometric/ GPRS systems in schools

Karachi: Sindh Senior Minister for Education & Literacy Pir Mazharul Haq has said biometric System/ GPRS methods would be introduced in Sindh schools to check the drop out of students and absence of teachers.

Presiding over a highlevel meeting at his office here on Thursday, he said this system initially will be introduced at subdivision level in some girls and boys schools in province.

He said 268 libraries of government colleges would be upgraded soon and libraries would also be established at high school level in Sindh.

Minister showed concern over not implementing of the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari in education sector. He directed the secretary education to accelerate work on establishment of campuses of Sindh University and Shah Latif University in far-flung areas of Sindh.

He suggested establishment of SALU campuses in Daharki and Ghotki and also reviewed establishment of Sufi University, Girls Cadet College at Garhi Khuda Bux.

He said admission process has already been completed in Sufi University and academic session will be started soon.

The meeting was attended by secretary education Faizullah Pechuho, Sharf Ali Shah, Pervaiz Sahir, Abdul Rehman Meo, Dr Zubair and others.
