Sports: Cricket: IHC orders PCB chief’s election on November 2

Karachi: Islamabad High Court has asked the Election Commission of Pakistan ECP to hold the election of Pakistan Cricket Board PCB Chairman on November 2.

The orders were issued by Chief Justice IHC Justice Shaukat Siddiqui, who added that if ECP couldn’t conduct the elections then it would be held under the supervision of Registrar High Court.

The court has directed the ECP to make arrangements of the election of a new PCB chief as per the procedure laid down by International Cricket Council ICC.

The adhoc committee headed by Najam Sethi would become dysfunctional as soon as the new chief is elected.

Najam Sethi has been appointed by PCB Patron Nawaz Sharif to head a five member adhoc committee, which was tasked to conduct the elections within ninety days.
