Sports: Cricket: Misfiring Misbah retained as captain for series against Protease

Karachi: In spite coming under immense criticism after Pakistan lost a Test match against Zimbabwe, Misbahul Haq has retained his place as captain for the upcoming Test series against South Africa, which Pakistan hosts in UAE.

Pakistan Cricket Board PCB has announced a 28member probables list for the upcoming series and also a 15member Pakistan A team squad for a three-day match against South Africans side to be played from October 8 at Sharjah. Pakistan A would leave for UAE on October 5.

Meanwhile, the camp of the probables would be held from September 30 to October 6 in Lahore. During the camp, a three-day practice game will be played from October 2 between two teams from the probables – one captained by Misbah and the other by Umar Amin.

Pakistan is scheduled to play two Tests, five ODIs and two T20s against South Africa from October 14 to November 15.

The probables called for the camp for series against South Africa are Shaan Masood, Khurram Manzoor, Sohaib Maqsood, Younis Khan, Misbahul Haq, Faisal Iqbal, Adnan Akmal W/K, Abdul Rehman, Usman Qadir, Junaid Khan, Rahat Ali, Wahab Riaz, Ahmed Shahzad, Muhammad Hafeez, Azhar Ali, Umar Amin, Asad Shafiq, Umar Akmal, Sarfaraz Ahmed W/K, Saeed Ajmal, Zulfiqar Babar, Yasir Shah, Aizaz Cheema, Ehsan Adil, Ahmed Jamal, Akbarur Rehman, Imran Khan and Muhammad Rizwan W/K.
