Sports: Cricket: Sind narrowly beat Balochistan in BB tourney

Karachi: Sind’s women cricket team recorded a close two-wicket victory against their counterparts from Balochistan in 2nd Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Women Cricket Challenge Trophy on Tuesday at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Balochistan batted first in the match and put on board 1019 in allotted 20 overs. Nahida Khan batted well for the side playing an unbeaten knock of 37 runs. Sajida Shah captured three wickets while Ramim Shamim and Kainat Imtiaz took two wickets each for Sind.

Sind in response reached the target in 20 overs with only two wickets in hand. Ayesha Zafar played an unbeaten inning of 27 runs and was later declared Player of the match for scoring most runs for the winning team. Aiman Anwar also batted well for the victors scoring 24 runs.

Kulsoom Hanif took three wickets while Bakhtawar Iqbal grabbed two wickets for Balochistan in the match.
