Karachi: Pakistani qualifier Aurangzeb Mehmund bowed out of Atlanta Open – the PSA World Tour Challenger 10 squash event after losing first round match to Englishman Nathan Lake at the Lifetime Athletic Club in Atlanta, USA.

Lake, ranked 114th in the world – 49 places ahead Aurangzeb, dropped a set before registering an 118, 811, 119, 119 victory to secure his place in the quarterfinals of the event.

Sports: Squash: Farhan falls in Calgary first round

Karachi: Mexican Alfredo Avila cut short Pakistani interest in PSA Challenger 10 TAQA Bankers Hall Club Pro Am after he defeated lone Pakistani player Farhan Zaman in the first round at Bankers Hall Club in Calgary, Canada.

However, Farhan, ranked at lowly 95th spot twice equalized the scores against 29 places higher ranked opponent Avila, who eventually recorded an 118, 911, 114, 1214, 118 victory after marathon fiveset encounter.
