Target killing of political opponents still continues

LAHORE: Secretary General, Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the abductions of civilians, the presence of torture cells and target killing of political opponents which had been invented by the Bhutto regime were still continuing and bringing bad name to the country.

Addressing a reference in memory of an old guard of the JI, Pehalwan Abduls Sattar, Liaqat Baloch said that the Muslims were facing tyranny and injustice in the Muslim states. The Muslims of Egypt, Syria, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Palestine and Iraq were in the grip of the colonial powers.

The present situation, he said, called for a complete unity of the Muslim Ummah and its return to the Quran and the Sunnah, besides establishment of an Islamic bloc on economic, defense and social lines.
