Tehreek Akhuwat-e-Islami condemns Badami Bagh incident

Islamabad: Chairman Tehreek Akhuwat-e-Islami (TAI) and Interfaith Dialogue Committee Pakistan, Allama Inayat Ali Shakir has strongly condemned the incident of attacks on Christian’s homes in Joseph Colony at Badami Bagh, Lahore. He said Joseph colony tragedy conspiracy is to create Muslim- Christian conflict.

Allama Inayat Ali Shakir in a statement said that Islam is a religion of peace and love. The Holy Prophet (SAW) guaranteed the complete protection of life, honour and property of the non-Muslims in an Islamic state.

He made a telephonic conversation with Bishop of Lahore Rev. Dr. Alexander John Malik, Advisor to the Prime Minister Mr. Paul Bhatti and Mr. Peter Bhatti, Chairman of International Christian Vice from Toronto and conveyed them his feelings of sorrow on the incident.

Allama Inayat Ali Shakir was of the view that miscreants want to damage the efforts of peace and interfaith harmony. He demanded of the government to take severe action against the elements who misuse the blasphemous law.

He said Badami Bagh incident would never happened if the culprits in Gojra incident and Rimsha Masih case had been awarded punishment. He said according to Islamic values no body is allowed to violate law by burning houses of innocent peoples.

Allama Inayat Ali Shakir said it was Government’s responsibility to provide security to Christian community, but unfortunately the Govt have failed in providing security to minorities.
