Three murders: ATC issues notice against IO

KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court-V issued a contempt of court notice to Investigation Officer (IO) for his failure to appear before it to explain a defective investigation report in three murders case.

Police brought accused in a police mobile to ATC-V Judge, who was alleged to be involved in murders of Haider Ali, Irfan and Nizamuddin. The accused was arrested on 30 Jan 2012 in Bilal Colony, Karachi.

Earlier, the court had issued a show-cause notice to IO for approving a defective investigation report. The IO had submitted a Class-A (untraceable evidence) report against the suspect in court.

The court observed that IO conducted a faulty investigation as he did not record the statement of the accused.
