Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Inayat Ullah Khan on Thursday said that traders were the backbone for the development and prosperity of the country and the provincial coalition government would provide them full opportunities to play their vital role in strengthening economy of the country.
He expressed these views while discussing issues of Peshawar city with members of Peshawar Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Peshawar. Inayatullah Khan said bringing law and order situation to normalcy was his government’s top priority and protection would be provided to investors. Administrator Rasheed Ahmad Khan, President and Vice President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry were also present on the occasion.
The members of Chamber discussed in detail traffic system, encroachments, receiving taxes/fares of public shops, wedding halls, parks, as well as cleanliness and sanitation of Peshawar city.
Inayatullah said the present government was taking its utmost interest in making Peshawar City a hub of attraction through beautifying and making it a model city. He said green Peshawar campaign would be started from February next year.
He said work over developing green belts at Peshawar city and Town had been initiated, special attention was being given to improve the roads at City and surrounding areas. He said the old and rusted water pipes of 25 union councils of Peshawar were being changed.
For beautifying Peshawar City and improving tax system, the minister directed Administrator to form different committee to facilitate people. President Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented shield to the minister in recognition of successful cleanliness drive in Peshawar.
