Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has demanded Sweden to work towards countering terrorism threats before clearing the country’s application to join NATO.

President Recep Tayyip said this after meeting with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in Ankara.

He said we understand their security concerns, and we want Sweden to respond to ours.

Swedish Prime Minister said he understood Turkish fight against terrorism and promised to respond to its demands.
