Undemocratic forces behind Abbas Town blast tragedy

KARACHI, SINDH: Undemocratic and inhuman forces are behind Abbas Town blast tragedy, therefore, the government should arrest culprits involved in this incident and take concrete steps to maintain law and order in Karachi to avoid such incidents in the future.

This was stated by Dr Arshad A Vohra Chairman, Naseem Anwar Senior Vice Chairman, Dr Qazi Ahmed Kamal, Vice Chairman and Members of Executive Committee of SITE Association of Industry in a joint statement issued on Thursday.

They said Abbas Town blast claimed four dozen lives, injured over hundred and inflicted loss on the residential and commercial properties of the innocent citizens.

They demanded of the government to capture culprits behind the incident and take concrete steps in containing law and order across the city.

They expressed their profound grief over the incident and termed it a coward act of terrorism. They were of the view that undemocratic and inhuman forces were behind the tragedy. They demanded to book the culprits and brought them to justice.

“Such elements playing with the lives of innocent people are open enemy of humanity while the government is observing a volatile situation as silent spectator.”

They further said that mourning was observed on Monday over the deadly bomb blast in Karachi while a complete strike paralyzed routine life throughout Sind, causing production activities and heavy loss to the revenue of the country as one day closure of the Karachi City gives a blow of about Rs300 million loss.
