The UN Security Council has urged the interim Afghan government to reverse its policy of excluding women from public life.
In a statement, the 15-member Council expressed deep concern over suspension of access to universities for women and girls in Afghanistan.
It also denounced the suspension of schools beyond the sixth grade for Afghan girls and demanded equal rights for women and girls.
