USAID to assist setting up education institute at SALU

Khairpur: A meeting of USAID Pakistan Reconstruction Program was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur on Thursday, with Prof Dr. Parveen Shah Vice Chancellor in the chair.

The purpose of the meeting was to establish the Institute of Education at SALU Khairpur. The delegation was led by Salman Khan of Engineering Management Unit of USAID.

Prof Dr. Parveen Shah said that Institute of Education building would be constructed according to international standard.

Naveed Tariq Project Manager USAID Pakistan Reconstruction Program briefed on salient features of the building component of the Institute of Education at SALU. He said that its ground breaking ceremony will be held in next week. He said the Institute of Education comprises of an area of 15000 square feet, having six class rooms, two conference rooms, learning centre, one multipurpose hall, technology smart research room, handicap lift, Dean office, backup power supply, staff offices, faculty lounge, faculty members offices, one auditorium and water filtration plant. He said that the building will be handed over to University administration by June 2013.
