Waterborne diseases feared after heavy rains

Sakrand, Sindh: The sanitary conditions following the heavy rains are in shambles as sewerage and stagnant water flowing everywhere, posing danger of spread of waterborne diseases.

Heavy monsoon rains in Sakrand and adjoining areas have sent many localities inundated with stagnant water. Local municipal authorities have failed to drain out the stagnant water, as many localities depict small lakes and ponds.

Skin and other diseases are on the rise and it is feared that waterborne diseases would soon break out if sanitary conditions are not improved. The citizens have requested the Sindh local government minister to take notice of the situation.
